Beaver Win
Aiva Arquette went 3-for-3 and was a triple short of the cycle as fifth-ranked Oregon State topped Washington 5-2 Tuesday night at a sold-out Hillsboro Ballpark. Arquette homered in the seventh and doubled in the first to help lift the Beavers to their 19th win of the season. Gavin Turley’s two-run double in the fifth put OSU ahead for good. Seven pitchers combined in the win, with James DeCremer earning his first career victory and AJ Hutcheson locking down the save. Oregon State heads to Nebraska Friday night.
Viking Sports
Friday’s Double-header baseball game pits the Vikings against the Toledo Boomers. The Boomers have started the season 3-1 scoring 63 runs in just 4 games. The Vikings have had struggles getting runners across the plate, but have had success in pitching and keeping the score down. Coast Radio will cover game 2 of the double header beginning at 1:45 on KCST. The viking softball team will be in Taft for the 1-3 tigers with games beginning at 2. Both matches are weather dependent with rain expected to continue through the weekend.
Duck Baseball
Oregon Duck baseball got a break in the action after two games against Kent State were cancelled. Up next for the Ducks is Ohio State on Friday for a three game series in Columbus.
