Fundraiser Postponed; Scotch Broom Removal; Sip and Stroll Yachats

Fundraiser Postponed

The Florence Food Share has announced a postponement of its upcoming fundraiser, Game On: Hollywood Nights, originally scheduled for April 11th at Three Rivers Casino. Organizers cited lower-than-expected ticket sales as the reason for the delay. The event is now being rescheduled for later this summer, with a new date to be announced. Ticket holders are encouraged to contact Colin Morgan at Florence Food Share for more information. Organizers say they remain committed to creating a successful and memorable event in support of the community.

Scotch Broom Removal

The Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative is hosting a volunteer Scotch broom removal event at Heceta Dunes on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to noon. The effort is part of an ongoing initiative to protect native habitats by removing invasive species. Families are encouraged to participate, and volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves, water, and tools if available. The event may be canceled in case of stormy weather—check the Save Oregon Dunes Facebook page for updates. Directions and full details are available through the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative.

Sip and Stroll Yachats

Wine lovers will head to Yachats on Saturday, April 19th, for the return of the annual Sip & Stroll Yachats. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. and features up to 18 Oregon wineries, with tastings set up throughout the village’s shops, galleries, and restaurants. A shuttle service will connect all locations, and ticket holders will receive a commemorative glass and sample tickets. New this year: a wine courier service and a prize drawing for visitors who stop at every location. Early bird tickets are $25 through April 5.
