Viking Defeat
The Siuslaw Varsity Vikings struggled against North Bend on Wednesday, falling 16-1. North Bend jumped out early, scoring four in the first, then steadily added runs over the next three innings. Jacob Mann took the loss for Siuslaw, giving up eight runs in just under two innings. Roenin Barrows and Maximus Reynolds had the Vikings’ only hits, while Zak Nilles drove in their lone run. North Bend tallied 11 hits, 11 walks, and five stolen bases in the game. Siuslaw looks to regroup Saturday when they face Sweet Home.
Sailor Softball
The Mapleton Sailor Softball team will be at home today hosting Marist Catholic. The Spartans have started 2-0 this season. The sailors are coming off of a 14-0 drubbing of HOOPA a northern California team.
Oregon Relays
Tomorrow begins the two day Oregon Relays. The Siuslaw Vikings will take part in that event at Hayward Field in Eugene.
