Athlete of the Week

The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Viking Track and Field standout Aidell Cadet as this week’s Athlete of the Week.  Aidell competed in the Oregon Relays attempting the grueling 300 Meter Hurdles for the first time with a time of 50.25 which coach Chris Johnson says was the 15th best in Siuslaw history.  Giving her a 2nd place ranking in 3A competition.  She also ran the fastest leg in the 4×100 relay.

Honorable Mention

Honorable Mention goes to Henry Stone who ran the 2 mile in 9: 34 seconds missing the school record by just 2 seconds and is ranked 3rd in 3A competition.

Baseball

Siuslaw baseball will be in Newport this evening for a 5pm game with a 4:45 pregame on KCST.

Mapleton Softball will be at  home against Molalla.  Viking softball cancelled

Viking Golf

The Siuslaw Vikings boys golf team took fourth place Monday at the Bandon Invitational, held at the scenic Bandon Dunes. Senior Ryan Klampe led the Vikings, tying for fifth overall among 38 golfers with an 11-over-par 83. Will Johnson followed with an 88, Micah Blankenship shot 89, Camden Linton posted a 97, and Jaxon Chiang rounded out the team with a 102. Meanwhile, the Lady Vikings are scheduled to tee off Thursday in the Cottage Grove Invitational at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell.
