Chamber CEO Chosen for U.S. Chamber Master Class
Bettina Hannigan, president and CEO of the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, has been selected by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to join an exclusive master class focused on childcare and workforce development. Hannigan joins 32 leaders from across the country in the program, aimed at developing community-based childcare solutions. She says the effort ties directly to Florence’s future workforce and local economy, noting the work already being done with the Florence Childcare Taskforce and AmeriCorps to help grow and support childcare businesses.
Lane Transit District Audit Completed
Lane Transit District’s Board of Directors has approved the agency’s annual financial and compliance audits. Accounting firm Eide Bailly LLP issued unmodified opinions, indicating LTD’s financial statements and practices meet federal and GAAP standards. The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report offers added transparency, including local economic data and ridership figures. LTD CFO Julie Lindsey said the findings confirm that what’s presented on paper reflects reality. The audits covered LTD’s financials through June 30, 2024, and were conducted over a six- to eight-week period.

Egg Hunt
The Easter Dash is set for Saturday morning at Miller Park, where kids will race to collect candy-filled eggs starting at 10 a.m. Organizers recommend arriving by 9:30 to enjoy pre-hunt activities and claim a good spot. Also happening that morning: a free child car seat clinic from 9 to noon, hosted by Western Lane Fire and EMS, Florence Police, and other safety partners. Technicians will inspect seats for proper installation—and in some cases, provide replacements when needed.
