Coast Radio Sports for Monday April 21, 2025

The Viking baseball nine fell in both halves of a Friday Double Header at Jiggs Dodson Field, losing game 1 to the South Umpqua Lancers 11-1, then the nightcap 7-nothing.  Siuslaw Softball lost two games, also to the Lancers, 16-1 and 16-0. 

#6 ranked Oregon State baseball complete a three-game sweep of Cal State Northridge, winning game 2 on Friday 16-11 then hanging on Saturday afternoon for a 15-12 victory.  The Beavers currently hold the 2nd longest win streak in NCAA division 1 play at 11 in a row.  They are in Corvallis this afternoon where they’ll begin a two-game series against Gonzaga.  

#16 Oregon put together a late-game rally at PK Park Sunday afternoon, putting up 4 runs in the bottom of the eighth, then hanging on for a 10-6 win over UCLA.  The win in game three came after the Ducks won the Friday opener 2-1 then the Bruins coming out on top in Saturday’s game 14-4.  

Prep Track and Field – Siuslaw had a good showing at Friday’s John Oliver Invitational at Central High School in Independence.  The boys were 3rd out of 18 teams and the girls were 10th out of 19.
