Viking golf results, baseball and softball schedules

The Siuslaw boys were on the course Monday in Lebanon for the Mallard Creek Invitational.  Ryan Klampe was the highest finisher for the team, ending up in 8th overall with an 83.  Will Johnson was tied for 19th with a 91.  Teamwise the Vikings were 61 strokes off the lead with a team score of 373, in 5th out of 12 teams.  Western Christian was first with 312.  Coach Chuck Johnson said the Vikings know they have not played their best as a team recently.  He acknowledged they will take the next two weeks of hard work to prepare them for what will be their third straight championship participation… but they must win at district to do that.

For the girls, they hosted a special district 4 meet yesterday at Florence Golf Links.  Marshfield was first with 430 strokes, followed by North Bend, Marist, Cottage Grove, and then Siuslaw in 5th with a 490.  Macali Lade was 14th individually with a 119.  Jozaly Hulet finished 16th, Maely Chiang was 17th and Abbi Moldanado, in her very first tournament was 27th with 130 strokes.

The girls are on the course again this afternoon up the McKenzie River for the Tokatee Invitational.
