Siuslaw Baseball and Softball Dropped Two Each
It was a rough weekend on the diamond if you were a Siuslaw Viking or an Oregon State Beaver. In Winston Friday, the Viking softballers fell in both halves of a double header to the Douglas Trojans, falling to the Trojans 17-1 and 18-3. The results were similar for the boys on the baseball diamond, lowing 14-0 and 10-zip.
Ducks Dammed the Beavers
The Oregon Ducks got out the brooms at PK Park in Eugene for a three-game sweep of the Oregon State Beaver baseball squad. The Ducks beat the Beavers 4-2 Friday evening then pounced on the Beavers defense Saturday coming away with a 13-1 drubbing. It came down to the wire yesterday afternoon but the Ducks held on for a 3-2 win for the program’s only series win over a top-3 team. The teams will meet a final time tomorrow in Corvallis with the first pitch at 5:35. That game will air on the Soundtrack of Our Lives, KCFM.
