Ems Up 2 games in Series

The Eugene Emeralds powered past the Everett AquaSox 9-7, tying a season high with 16 hits as all nine batters recorded base hits. Back-to-back home runs by Jack Payton and Charlie Szykowny in the 3rd set the tone, with Payton’s blast traveling 378 feet. Starter Josh Bostick allowed just two runs over 5.2 innings for his third win. Luke Shliger added a 390-foot homer in the 7th, and Szykowny’s 2-run triple in the 9th sealed it. Austin Strickland earned his first save, retiring all seven batters faced. Eugene leads the series 2-0 and sits at 3-1 to start the second half.

Baseball Honors

Oregon outfielder Mason Neville has been named a third-team All-American by Baseball America, his fourth All-America honor this season. Neville led the nation with 26 home runs, broke multiple school records, and was a semifinalist for both the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award.

Oregon State standouts AJ Singer and Gavin Turley have been named All-Americans by the College Baseball Foundation. Singer, who hit .312 with just two errors all season, also earned a Gold Glove Award, becoming just the third Beaver to do so.

Turley’s All-American nod is his fourth of the year. He hit .351 with 20 home runs and 69 RBIs—becoming only the third Beaver in program history to reach the 20-homer mark. The honors bring OSU’s 2024 All-American total to five, tying for second-most in school history.
