Ems Continue Win Streak

The Eugene Emeralds rolled past the Everett AquaSox 8-2, securing at least a series split with their third straight win. The Ems exploded offensively, tallying 29 runs and 42 hits in the first three games, including seven home runs and two grand slams. Luke Shliger launched his second grand slam of the season, while Jonah Cox and Scott Bandura added key hits and stolen bases. Starter Cesar Perdomo earned the win, tossing six innings without allowing an earned run. Eugene is now 4-1 to start the second half and will aim for a series win this weekend.

Baseball Honors Continue to Roll In

More national honors are rolling in for Oregon State Baseball. Outfielder Gavin Turley has been named a Second-Team All-American by D1Baseball.com—his fifth All-America nod of the year. Shortstop Aiva Arquette and freshman pitcher Dax Whitney were also recognized, earning third-team selections. Whitney’s award marks his first All-America honor and makes him the sixth Beaver to earn the title this season—just one shy of the 2018 record. Turley and Arquette both posted standout offensive seasons, while Whitney set a freshman school record with 120 strikeouts.

Oregon outfielder Mason Neville has been named a unanimous All-American—the third in Ducks history. D1Baseball’s third-team selection completes honors from all five major outlets. Neville led the nation with 26 home runs and set Oregon single-season records for slugging, walks, and runs scored. He joins David Peterson and Aaron Zavala as the program’s only unanimous picks and was also a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes and Dick Howser awards.
