Duck Shortstop Honored
Oregon shortstop Maddox Molony has been named to the 2025 Academic All-America® Baseball Second Team by College Sports Communicators. He becomes just the second player in Ducks program history to earn the honor, joining Aaron Zavala in 2021. Molony, with a 3.88 GPA in multi-disciplinary science, also earned Big Ten third-team honors after hitting .309 with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs. He’s now tied for sixth all-time in career home runs at Oregon with 25.
Emeralds Win on Walk-Off
The Eugene Emeralds walked it off in dramatic fashion for a 2-1 win over the Hillsboro Hops in front of a sold-out crowd at PK Park. Jonah Cox, who drew a key walk in the 1st and scored the tying run, delivered again in the 9th with a grounder that turned into a game-ending error, scoring Jose Ramos. It was the Ems’ fourth walk-off win of the season and their fifth straight victory. Eugene now leads the series 3-0 and improves to 9-2 in the second half. Shane Rademacher pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run on four hits.
