Beaver Top Draft Pick
Oregon State infielder Aiva Arquette was selected seventh overall by the Miami Marlins in the first round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday. Arquette becomes the first Beaver picked in this year’s draft and the third first-rounder under head coach Mitch Canham. The Hawai’i native batted .354 this season with 19 home runs and 73 runs scored, earning All-American honors and finalist recognition for the nation’s top shortstop. He’s the 14th first-round pick in OSU history and the eighth Beaver ever drafted by Miami.
Ems Take Series 4-2
The Eugene Emeralds edged out the Spokane Indians 11-10 in a wild series finale last night, clinching the six-game set 4-2 on the road. Aiva Bandura led the charge with a home run and two RBIs, while Jonah Cox added three hits and a two-run homer. The Ems launched four homers in total, including a clutch two-run shot by Brett McDaniel in the ninth. Drew Dunaway earned the win in relief, and Tyler Peterson picked up the save. Eugene improves to 12-6 in the second half.
