The Eugene Emeralds exploded for 17 hits and crushed the Vancouver Canadians 12-3 to open a 7-game road series. Maui Ahuna made his Emeralds debut, reaching base four times and driving in two runs. Drew Cavanaugh led the charge with four hits and four RBI. Charlie Szykowny extended his hitting streak to a Northwest League-best 14 games. The Ems improved to 19-5 in the second half and now hold a 4.5 game lead, backed by a dominant +79 run differential. Ryan Vanderhei earned a rare three-inning save to seal the win.

Oregon to Honor Bill Dellinger

The University of Oregon will host a public memorial for legendary track coach Bill Dellinger on Wednesday, July 30 at Hayward Field. The service begins at 7:30 p.m., the night before the USATF Outdoor Championships. Dellinger, who passed away at 91, was an Olympic medalist and guided Oregon to multiple national titles as head coach.
