Shrine Game Saturday
Former Siuslaw Vikings football standouts Max Reynolds and Joel Sissel will take the field this Saturday in the East-West All-Star Shrine Game at Bulldog Memorial Stadium in Baker City. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., with live streaming available on EOAlive.tv via Facebook and Roku. The weeklong event wraps up with Saturday’s game following a community parade, tailgate, and pre-game pageantry. Tickets are $15 for reserved seating and $12 general admission, with gates opening at 5 p.m. The game supports Shriners Children’s hospitals.
Ems Split Double Header
The Eugene Emeralds split Thursday’s double-header against the Vancouver Canadians, dropping game one 4-3 in 11 innings before bouncing back with a 5-1 win in game two. Vancouver used a position player to pitch the final innings of game one, securing a walk-off win. In game two, Eugene took control early, capped by a towering 3-run homer from Guillermo Williamson. With a 3-1 series lead and a 21-6 record in the second half, the Ems have three more chances this weekend to secure their fifth straight series win and the head-to-head tiebreaker.
