Hot Weather

If you’re headed to the valley this weekend or even Mapleton, be prepared for dangerous heat. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Watch from Friday morning through Sunday evening across multiple regions of Oregon, with an Excessive Heat Warning in place for parts of Southwest Oregon through Monday. Temperatures are expected to reach hazardous levels, and state agencies are urging people to take precautions. Heat-related illnesses are preventable, but groups such as children, older adults, and outdoor workers face higher risk. Know the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms escalate.
