Girls Soccer

The Siuslaw Vikings girls soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Santiam Christian in a rough, hard-fought league match Thursday at Adair Village. Ava Borgnino scored the tying goal with an assist from Mia Goss. The Lady Vikings, now 1-1-1, visit Pleasant Hill Tuesday before hosting undefeated Creswell on Thursday. Creswell has started 3-0, outscoring opponents 20 to nothing this season.

Possible League Expansion

The future of Siuslaw Vikings athletics could mean a nine-school Far West League or a five-school version. The OSAA Classification and Districting Committee released proposals for 2026 to 2030, with both options including matchups against Coquille, Douglas, South Umpqua, and Sutherlin.

Viking Football

Viking football opens their home series tonight against North Valley with the pregame on KCST at 6:45.  Coach Sam Johnson says the team is prepared for this evening’s battle, it comes down to execution.

“We’ve played them three times.  They’ve kind of had different alterations to their offense every time but if we show up and do our job were fine on a Friday night against a team like that.”
