Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Viking Soccer player Kale Jensen as this week’s athlete of the week. Kale was dominant in Siuslaw’s win over Marshfield last week scoring 3 goals in the first half of the game. Jensen created some breakaway attacking opportunities. Scoring his third goal on a powerful angled shot at the end of a deep run toward the edge of the goal box. Helping to secure the Vikings 7-4 win.
Honorable Mention goes to Viking Volleyball junior Stella Duman. Coach Perry said Duman played two very impressive matches with 13 kills, 4 aces against Bandon and followed it up with 15 kills, 2 aces against Brookings.
Viking boys soccer will be on the field this afternoon against Blanchett Catholic at 6pm. the Viking girls will be at Pleasant Hill at 6:30. Elmira will host Viking volleyball at 6:30. The Mapleton Sailors will take on triangle Lake in volleyball this evening beginning at 6pm.
