Viking Soccer
The Siuslaw Vikings boys soccer team fell 4-2 on the road at Blanchet Catholic Tuesday evening. The Vikings struck early, with goals from Kale Jensen and Sailor Jensen in the first 15 minutes, and goalkeeper Terrance Masterman turned away every shot in the first half to preserve the lead. But in the second half, fatigue and limited substitutions caught up with Siuslaw. Blanchet capitalized on defensive mistakes and breakaways to score four unanswered goals. Despite the loss, the Vikings generated several strong offensive chances and continue to show progress as they prepare to open league play next Tuesday at Creswell. The lady Vikings fell 3-1 to Pleasant Hill.
