Cross Country

Siuslaw’s cross country team turned in 14 personal records Saturday at The Mook Invitational in Tillamook. Sophomore Henry Stone led the Vikings with a seventh-place finish in 15:24, helping the boys to sixth overall in the varsity gold division. Adylin Holbrook paced the Lady Vikings in 20:11 as the girls placed 19th. Siuslaw’s boys and girls fielded eight and seven runners respectively, with several standout times across the roster. The Vikings now prepare to host 11 schools at the Woahink Lake Invitational this Saturday at Honeyman State Park. Varsity girls run at 12:30, boys at 1:15.

Viking Football

Top-ranked Cascade Christian rolled past the Siuslaw Vikings 57-0 Friday night in Medford. The Challengers built a 35-0 halftime lead, and the second half was played with a running clock. Siuslaw also lost starting quarterback and defensive back Micah Blankenship to injury late in the first half. Sophomore Jericho Lake took over at quarterback after the break. The Vikings, now 1-2, return home to host La Pine next Friday at 7 p.m. in their final nonleague game.

Siuslaw Viking soccer resumes tomorrow on the road with the girls heading to sisters while the boys will play Creswell

College Football

The Oregon Ducks defeated the OSU Beavers on 41-7 on Saturday to go 4-0 on the season.  The Beavers are winless after 4 games.  The Duck will face Penn State on the road this Saturday while the Beavers host Houston.
