Soccer
The Siuslaw boys soccer team came out strong Tuesday against Crosshill Christian at Jefferson High School, setting the tone early and maintaining momentum throughout the match. Camden Linton scored twice in the first half, while Kale Jensen added two more goals in the second, and Bentley Nelson sealed the win with another. Goalkeeper Terrance Masterman made eight saves as Siuslaw took the 5–2 victory over Crosshill Christian.
Freshman Pearl Jensen scored both goals as the Viking girls defeated Santiam Christian 2-1. Siuslaw controlled much of the match, shutting down the Eagles’ offense nearly every time. Santiam’s lone goal came on a long, high shot that skimmed the crossbar. Junior goalkeeper Aidell Cadet made 20 saves, including several tough one-on-one stops, helping secure the Viking victory.
Volleyball
The Siuslaw Vikings volleyball team fell in three sets to sixth-ranked Douglas, with scores of 11-25, 20-25, and 12-25. Despite the loss, the team showed strong serve receive and improved ball distribution, especially in the second set. Coaches say the new lineup brought positive changes and solid moments of play. Siuslaw looks ahead to a home matchup against Sutherlin on Thursday.
