Ducks Win
The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team remained undefeated Wednesday night with an 83–69 win over South Dakota State at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon set a program record with 40 three-point attempts, making 15 of them to offset early struggles on the boards and at the free-throw line. Jackson Shelstad led the Ducks with 22 points and eight assists, while Takai Simpkins added 20 points and Nate Bittle recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Head coach Dana Altman said the team has “a lot to work on,” but noted players finished strong. Oregon, now 3-0, hosts Oregon State on Monday.
Beavers Win
The Oregon State Beavers pulled off a dramatic comeback Wednesday night, edging North Texas 66–64 at Gill Coliseum to improve to 3-0. OSU trailed by 13 with seven minutes left and was still down seven in the final two minutes before mounting the rally. Key plays came from Johan Munch, who sparked the push with a three-point play, and Josiah Lake II, who tied the game at the line with three seconds remaining. A North Texas technical for calling a timeout they didn’t have gave Lake two more free throws, securing the win. Munch and Lake each finished with 10 points as the Beaver bench contributed 32. Oregon State visits Oregon on Monday.
Beaver women’s basketball will be on the court tomorrow at home against Illinois
