Oregon cut a 17-point deficit to five but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 76–66 loss to Creighton Thursday morning in Las Vegas. Sean Stewart led the Ducks with a career-best 18 points and seven rebounds, while Dezdrick Lindsay added a career-high 14. Oregon shot 52 percent in the second half and dominated the paint after halftime, but Creighton capitalized on turnovers and transition chances, finishing with 24 fast-break points. Nate Bittle missed the game with an ankle injury.
Oregon State stayed close to seventeenth-ranked Vanderbilt through the first half of Thursday’s Paradise Jam opener, but a decisive third quarter pushed the Commodores to an 88–66 win. Ally Schimel posted a career-high 15 points and her first double-double, while Jenna Villa added 15 with three steals. Lizzy Williamson scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the post. Vanderbilt outscored OSU 30–9 in the third quarter, which proved to be the difference.
Oregon’s bench powered the Lady Ducks to an 84–46 win over Old Dominion on Thanksgiving Day at the Hoopfest Women’s Challenge in Frisco, Texas. The reserves combined for 56 points, led by Astera Tuhina with 18 and a career-high 15 from Ehis Etute. Senior Amina Muhammad added 10 points in a matchup against her younger sister. Oregon, now 8–0, held ODU to just three field goals in the third quarter while forcing 22 turnovers. Tuhina left late with an ankle injury.
College Football
The Oregon Ducks will be in Washington Saturday to face the Washington Huskies the game has definite playoff indications for the Ducks, a loss could put them down on the list for the CFP. The Huskies are 8-3 on the season but more importantly they are 5-1 at home. The game will start with the pregame on KCST beginning at 11am.
The Oregon State Beavers have one more chance for a win in what fans are viewing as a disappointing season. They will travel to Pullman, Washington to face the cougars of Washington State. The game has a 2:30 start time on KCFM.
