Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Viking wrestler Danin Lacouture as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Danin won the 145 pound Title in what coach Neil Wartnik called a thrilling finals match. leading the girls to a second place finish at the Deven Dawson Memorial tournament in Harrisburg.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to senior Mapleton Basketball player Lucie Burruss who scored 29 points and 9 rebounds against Willamette Valley Christian on Friday. Thursday against Pacific she scored 22 points, seven steals and five rebounds. Guiding the Sailors to wins in both games.
Basketball
Viking Basketball will get another preseason matchup this evening against Reedsport. The girls will be up first at 5:30 followed by the boys. Pregame on KCST is at 5:15.
Mapleton basketball will be on the court against North Douglas this evening girls kick off the games at 5:30 from North Douglas.
