The Siuslaw Vikings boys basketball team picked up a 62-48 nonleague win at Toledo Tuesday night. Sophomore Jericho Lake led the Vikings with 25 points, scoring 17 in the second half, while senior Tom Morgan added 15. Siuslaw rallied after an early deficit to take a 30-25 halftime lead. The Vikings improve to 8-6 and host Harrisburg Friday night at 7 on Glenn Butler Court.
The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team dropped a 60-16 nonleague decision at Toledo Tuesday night. The loss drops the Lady Vikings to 5-9 on the season, while Toledo improves to 5-4 with its second win over Siuslaw this year. Siuslaw closes preleague play Friday at home against Harrisburg.
Duck Basketball
The Oregon Ducks women pulled off a stunning comeback Tuesday night, rallying from a 17-point deficit to upset 21st-ranked USC, 71-66, in Los Angeles. Oregon closed the game on a 14-0 run, with junior Ari Long hitting three late three-pointers, including the go-ahead shot with 31 seconds left. Ehis Etute led the Ducks with 17 points and 13 rebounds as Oregon improves to 14-3 on the season.
