Viking Basketball
The Siuslaw Vikings boys basketball team evened its Far West League record at 1-1 with a 61-52 road win over Coquille. Siuslaw trailed after one quarter but led the rest of the way. The Vikings are now 10-7 overall and play Tuesday at unbeaten South Umpqua.
The Viking Girls were defeated by Coquille 58-16.
Viking Wrestling
Siuslaw senior Jacob Mann won the 215-pound division at the Santiam Christian Screamin’ Eagle wrestling tournament, scoring 25 points. The Vikings placed sixth overall. Siuslaw wrestles next Wednesday at the 4-Way Duals at Cascade High School.
College Hoops
Oregon Duck Men’s basketball is on a 6 game slide after a loss last night to Washington. the Huskies held the Ducks to just 19 first half points and out rebounded the ducks 45-23 in the 72-57 loss. The Lady Ducks improved to 10-3 in big-10 play defeating Penn State on Saturday 89-59.
