Lady Vikings Defeat Glide
The Lady Viking soccer team handed Glide a loss on the pitch yesterday scoring 6 goals and holding the Wildcats to just one. Siuslaw improves to 2-2 in league play.
Viking Boys Outnumbered
The Vikings were short-handed Tuesday in a 9-1 league loss to Lost River/Bonanza at a neutral site in Grants Pass. Playing with just eight players for most of the match, Siuslaw battled through the challenge and showed improvement on the attack, creating several scoring opportunities. The Vikings scored once before the game ended early in the second half. Siuslaw now heads into the remainder of league play facing opponents they have already seen once this season.
Viking Volleyball
The Siuslaw Lady Vikings were swept by Glide Tuesday night in Far West League volleyball, falling 26-24, 25-14 and 25-17. Despite the loss, coach McKenzie Perry praised her team’s serving, saying they hit a 95 percent success rate and played aggressively, especially in the opening set. Senior Stella Duman led Siuslaw with 11 kills, 12 digs and 3 blocks. The Lady Vikings, now 2-10 overall and 1-6 in league play, host Coquille Thursday night at Glenn Butler Court.
