A 19-year old Reedsport man was killed, and his father injured, in a crash on Highway 101 near Hauser in the early morning hours of Friday morning. Police say Tyler Randall Hoffman died after the pickup truck he was driving crossed the centerline and collided with a north-bound semi truck operated by 33-year old Brandon Henderson of Coos Bay. Henderson was not injured, but 39-year old Jason R. Hoffman was transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay with non-life threatening injuries. Highway 101 was closed for six hours in the area, but a local detoured allowed traffic to pass. The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
