Police arrest Occupy Portland demonstrators
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police have arrested about a half-dozen
Occupy Portland demonstrators who refused to lift their blockade on
An Associated Press photographer at the scene says officers
moved in about 6 a.m. Thursday to clear the street.
Some other demonstrators had agreed Wednesday night to move out
of the road between Lownsdale and Chapman Square parks that have
been occupied since last week.
Mayor Sam Adams said the downtown street needs to be reopened
for commuters and business.
