district have nominated Democratic state Sen. Suzanne Bonamici

the special election to replace Rep. David Wu, who quit after a sex
scandal. The winners will face off in the general election on Jan.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say an improvised
incendiary device went off outside a downtown office building and
they’re looking into a possible link to Occupy Portland. Lt. Robert
King says a Molotov cocktail caused minor damage on an external
stairwell last night, and initial information shows a tie to Occupy
Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Opponents of the death penalty have called
on Gov. John Kitzhaber to declare a moratorium on executions in
Oregon, starting with one scheduled next month. A petition Tuesday
said Kitzhaber should grant a reprieve to Gary Haugen, who is
scheduled to die Dec. 6, and let him serve life without parole.

KEIZER, Ore. (AP) – A 23-year-old Keizer man has been accused of
manslaughter in his 4-year-old stepson’s death. Police say
Sebastian Iturbe died Sunday at a Portland hospital; an autopsy
showed he died of “blunt force trauma.” Police are looking for
witnesses who may have seen Gerardo Chavarria Pinzon at a park with
the boy.
