Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon woman who posed as her
15-year-old daughter on the teen’s Facebook page helped gather
evidence against a man accused of raping the girl. Prosecutors say
Stephen Mark Walker raped the girl several times from Nov. 10
through Nov. 13 while she was staying with him and his wife in
their Alsea home. The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports Walker and
his wife Kandie Walker were arraigned Monday on charges related to
that alleged assault.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A career bank robber is headed back to
prison for a third time, this time with a sentence of nearly 12
years for a holdup at a U.S. Bank in Eugene that netted him $290.
The Register-Guard reports that Douglas Hicks of Eugene was
sentenced yesterday in federal court after pleading guilty to the
June 2010 robbery. Hicks told the court he suffers from major
depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (AP) – Fire officials in the Portland suburb
of Lake Oswego say a kitchen fire killed two dogs and caused
$115,000 damage to a two-story home. Investigators said last night
that a stove burner was either left on or possibly turned on by one
of the family’s three Greyhound dogs. It ignited the housing of a
fryer sitting on top of the stove. One dog escaped but the other
two died.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a weekend explosion that killed
a Canby man was touched off by a pipe bomb inside a box that went
off in a driveway as he was helping a family move out of their
house. Ivan Rodriguez died Sunday night when the bomb exploded in a
toolbox-like container that he either poked or picked up. Police
searched the Canby house as well as the Salem home, but so far they
have no suspects and no motive.
