Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from
The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) – Terrence Ross overcame an awful first half of
shooting to score 26 of his career-high 30 points in the second
half, Darnell Gant added 10 of his 13 during Washington’s decisive
second-half run, and the Huskies rallied from 10 points down in the
second half to beat rival Washington State 75-65 last night. Ross
was the catalyst behind the Huskies’ 26-6 run that erased a 47-37
deficit with 12:16 left and gave Washington its biggest lead at
63-53 on Ross’ fifth 3-pointer of the night with 5:15 left.

SEATTLE (AP) – Washington guard C.J. Wilcox has a stress
fracture in his right femur near his hip and is doubtful to play
next weekend against California and Stanford. Wilcox sat out of
last night’s game against rival Washington State, a 75-65 Huskies
victory. A second MRI revealed the injury and Washington coach
Lorenzo Romar says doctors believe Wilcox can heal with rest. Romar
says they’re hopeful Wilcox will be ready to go for the Huskies’
trip to Arizona and Arizona State the last week of January.

HOUSTON (AP) – Kyle Lowry scored a season-high 33 points, Kevin
Martin hit four free throws in the final seconds of overtime and
the Houston Rockets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 107-105 Saturday
night. Nicolas Batum had a season-high 29 points to lead Portland,
which lost its third straight game.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Elias Harris scored 19 points and Gary Bell
added 16 to help No. 21 Gonzaga beat Loyola Marymount 62-58 Saturday. Kevin Pangos scored nine points and Robert Sacre had eight
for the Bulldogs, who pulled away early in the second half to avoid
a second straight upset.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Alex Carbonel scored 18 points and Saint
Mary’s made four free throws in the last 25 seconds to beat No. 23
Gonzaga 66-63, ending the Bulldogs’ West Coast Conference
winning streak at 34 games. Kayla Standish led Gonzaga with 18
points. Katelan Redmon added 13 for the Bulldogs, who hadn’t lost a
WCC game at home since late in the 2008-09 season to Portland.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas says he’s
skipping his senior season to enter the NFL draft.  He follows Oregon running back LaMichael James, who announced earlier this month that he would also skip his final year of eligibility.

HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) – Milos Gordic scored the game-winner late
in the third period as Michigan Tech came from behind to beat
Alaska-Anchorage 6-4 yesterday to sweep their Western Collegiate
Hockey Association series. Josh Robinson had 21 saves for MTU and
Dusan Sidor had 25 for Alaska-Anchorage. Michigan Tech won Friday’s
game 6-2.
