Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The search resumes for a Tigard man
overdue from a climb on Mount Hood. Clackamas County deputies say
Jared Townsley left Timberline Lodge at midnight Sunday and was
expected to return by noon yesterday. He’s described as an
experienced climber who has scaled Mount Hood more than a dozen
times. Other climbers say they saw Townsley descending yesterday
morning at Crater Rock, below the summit.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – Sheriff’s officers say an argument over
driving escalated into a shooting that left one Oregon man
hospitalized. The Josephine County sheriff’s office says a
38-year-old man was shot in the torso Sunday night in a roadside
confrontation with another driver. Timothy Correia was hospitalized
in fair condition at a Grants Pass hospital. The case has been
referred to prosecutors.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – A gold miner has been sentenced to a year
in federal prison for illegally mining on a salmon stream near
Grants Pass. Clifford Tracy of Gold Hill was sentenced in federal
court in Medford for failing to file a plan of operations and post
a bond before mining on federal land that is critical habitat for
threatened salmon. This was Tracy’s second conviction for illegal
mining.

YORK, Neb. (AP) – A 50-year-old Oregon man who was arrested
while hauling 20 pounds of marijuana through Nebraska has pleaded
no contest. Douglas Sutton of Gold Hill made his plea last week
after making a deal with prosecutors, who lowered the charge to
possessing more than a pound. Sutton’s sentencing is scheduled for
March 19.
