PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a Gresham woman used her job as
a nursing assistant to take photos of dying patients at a nursing
home and posted them on her Facebook page with demeaning comments.
Nai Mai Chao was arrested in September when she worked at the
Regency Pacific Nursing and Rehab Center. KOIN reports she was
convicted in January of invasion of privacy. She surrendered her
license and was fired. Chao denied taking the photos but admitted
posting them.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The founder of a Portland charity that
sent millions of dollars to help school children in Iran has been
sentenced to a year of home detention for violating the U.S. trade
embargo. Mehrdad Yasrebi had pleaded guilty to conspiracy and
admitted violating the embargo by sending money to Iran and
covering up illegal cash transfers. He was also fined $50,000 and
must serve five years of probation.

SCAPOOSE, Ore. (AP) – A pedestrian was struck and killed late
last night on Highway 30 near Scapoose in Columbia County. Oregon
State Police say the road was closed until 4 this morning for the
investigation.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say four people are
injured after a car fleeing a trooper slammed into a pickup truck
in Eugene. A Eugene police vehicle that was not involved in the
chase was also hit. State police say a car that was originally
pulled over for speeding more than 100 mph took off again about
12:30 a.m., running red lights until it broadsided the pickup. A
man and woman in the truck were ejected and seriously injured. The
driver of the fleeing car and the officer were also hurt.
