Pac 12 Men’s Basketball

Beavers Pick Up Key Win

Ninth-seeded Oregon State blew a 15-point lead in the second half before rallying for a thrilling 86-84 victory over top-seeded Washington yesterday afternoon to advance to the Pac-12 Tournament Semi-Finals.  Jared Cunningham gave the Beavers the lead again on a layup with 32-seconds remaining.

The win puts the Beavers in the semis against fourth seeded Arizona at six tonight.  The two teams only met once this season, an 81-73 overtime win for the Wildcats.  The pregame show on KCFM is at 5:30.

If Oregon State wins Friday, they would face either Colorado or Cal in the men’s final Saturday at three.  A win there would give them an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament.

Ducks One and Done

Andre Roberson made the go-ahead layup with 10-seconds remaining, lifting Pac-12 newcomer Colorado to a 63-62 victory over Oregon in the tournament Quarterfinal last night.

Devoe Joseph, an All-Pac-12 first team selection, missed the potential winning 3-pointer from the left side at the buzzer.  Number-six seed Colorado will advance to a semi-final game tonight against number two seed California.

The loss all but extinguishes Oregon’s hopes of getting into the NCAA tournament, but the Ducks will spend the weekend waiting for the results of the NCAA tournament selection committee.
