PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police are asking the public if
anyone saw anything suspicious on I-205 where a man was found shot
in a car. The man was pulled from the car late last night and taken
to a hospital in critical condition. Police are asking if anyone
saw the smaller blue 4-door car pull over to the right side of
southbound I-205 around 10 p.m. near Division Street.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say more than a dozen
vehicles were forced onto the shoulder of U.S. Highway 97 to avoid
a motorhome being driven the wrong direction by an 83-year-old man
with an apparent medical condition. No crashes were reported
yesterday in the 20-minute drama north of Klamath Falls. A trooper
followed the driver with emergency lights and siren on for about
six miles before the driver noticed and stopped. Medics took the
driver to a Klamath Falls hospital for treatment of a possible

UNDATED (AP) – Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon and other Western
senators say the U.S. Forest Service may not be moving quickly
enough to build up and replace the fleet of aging planes that drop
fire retardant on wildfires. The senators want an evaluation of
whether the Forest Service has done a good job of analyzing the
types and numbers of aircraft needed, the cheapest way to get them,
new technologies, and where the planes will be based.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Former Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski has a
new job. The Oregonian reports Kulongoski begins next month as a
fellow at the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland
State University. The 71-year-old former Democratic governor will
help teach a class in the spring and develop his own political
science class for the fall.
