Siuslaw’s Stevie Miller captured the 400 meters and the 100 meter hurdles yesterday in a three-way meet between the Springfield Millers and Marist Spartans. Katy Potter, Jessica Alletson and Brionna DeSantis earned individual victories in the 800, the 3,000 and javelin and the girls finished second between the Millers and the Spartans.
The Viking Boys were third in a very close meet. Neal Larson, Matthew Campbell, Hayden Schaffner, and Jesse Wells were first in the 400, 800, 3,000 and high jump. The Vikings will be on the track Saturday for the Grants Pass Invitational.
Oregon Baseball Completes Bulldog Sweep
Oregon’s Diamond Ducks brought it down another exciting finish yesterday in Spokane as Jimmie Sherfy earned his 12th save of the season in an 8-7 non-conference win over Gonzaga. Oregon, at 32-13 and ranked number ten, extended its win streak to five games as they head to Tucson this weekend where they’ll face number 11 ranked Arizona in a three-game Pac-12 Series beginning tomorrow.
