Siuslaw Track and Field standout Hayden Schaffner is Coast Radio Sports Athlete of the Week.  The junior runner captured the individual state title in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.46.  Schaffner was also a member of the boys 4-by-400 relay team that finished second at the OSAA finals.

Honorable mention goes to Viking distance runner Katy Potter who placed in two different events at the OSAA 4A track meet; fifth in the 1,500 and third in the 3,000.

Oregon to Host NCAA Regional; Oregon State to LSU

Both Oregon and Oregon State baseball will be in the post season.  Number five Oregon will host one of 16 NCAA Regionals beginning Friday.  Cal State Fullerton and Indiana State will start things off and the Ducks will face Austin Peay.

Oregon State will be the number two seed in the LSU Regional.  They’ll take on Belmont in Friday’s opening game while the host Tigers will play Louisina-Monroe.

Parry Earns 3rd and 4th All-American

Former Siuslaw Track and Field standout Max Perry has now become a four-time All-American.  Competing for Southern Oregon University at the NAIA championships he added two A-A designations with 2nd place finishes in the men’s Hammer Throw and the Shot Put.
