STEVENSON, Wash. (AP) – A Portland kayaker has drowned on the Little White Salmon River in Skamania County, Wash. The sheriff’s office says 38-year-old Jennifer Watson was with a group of 10 kayakers Saturday when she capsized in white water. Authorities say Watson was an experience kayaker but had never been on that challenging stretch of river.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Multnomah County medical examiner’s office is trying to identify a body found in the Willamette River. The sheriff’s office says the man’s body was spotted Saturday night by a boater near the Steel Bridge and recovered by river patrol deputies.

ESTACADA, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say a motorcycle rider may have been going too fast through a curve when he lost control and crashed into an oncoming van on Highway 224 east of Estacada. The crash yesterday afternoon killed Roman Chernishov of Gervais. Troopers say a second motorcycle collided with the wreckage but the rider was not injured.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon has fallen below $4 a gallon to $3.95. Triple-A reports it dropped 17 cents in a week and 27 cents in a month. It’s 44 cents higher than the national average. Some metro prices — Portland $3.94, Salem $3.89, Eugene-Springfield $3.90, Medford-Ashland $3.96.
