PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Gov. John Kitzhaber’s spokesman says Oregon officials have had conversations with federal partners about needed financial and logistical help with debris expected to arrive from last year’s Japanese tsunami. Tim Raphael told The Oregonian on Wednesday that Oregon officials don’t yet know the full scope of the problem. The Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation said it has awarded an $84,000 contract for disposing of a Japanese dock that washed up on a beach.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon judge has ordered a Newport radio station owner to stay away from U.S. Rep. Kurt Schrader and stop hounding him with emails and phone calls. Schrader says in court documents that 68-year-old Cheryl McAnally Harle (hahr-ul) thinks they have a romantic relationship and has bombarded him with messages: sending 800 emails in a little more than four months. The Oregonian says she owns KCUP-AM and KPPT-FM, but calls to her home and business weren’t returned.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a man in north Portland after a bank robbery in Hazel Dell, Wash., a carjacking and car chases through Hazel Dell, Vancouver and across the Columbia River into Oregon. Clark County, Wash., sheriff’s Sgt. Fred Neiman says 29-year-old Brent J. Woodall of Vancouver was arrested after he allegedly robbed the Riverview Community Bank yesterday, fled in a Toyota SUV, sparked a chase through Hazel Dell and Vancouver and then stole another car.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward in the recent shootings of sea lions at the mouth of the Columbia River. Washington state director Dan Paul says the people responsible should be brought to justice, and the group is offering $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. About 20 dead sea lions – most with gunshot wounds – have been found in recent months. The shootings may be related to sea lions eating salmon at Bonneville Dam.
