Eugene batters tagged Salem-Keizer starter Lorenzo Mendoza for seven hits in the first three innings, then added eight more over the next six innings on the way to a 10-7 Northwest League Victory over the Volcanoes last night. Emeralds catcher Dane Phillips was three-for-four with a double and five RBI as the Ems improved to 6-and-5. The two teams meet again at Volcano Stadium in Keizer.
Field conditions got in the way again for the Three Rivers Sandblasters yesterday. They were slated to play the Eugene Challengers in two games at home… instead they’ll hit the road tomorrow for Medford for Tournament play through the weekend. They’re set to be at home for league play next Monday against Corvallis.
