The Eugene Emeralds stretched their winning streak to seven and remain 3 ½ games behind the Everett Aqua Sox with one swing of the bat last night. Ronnie Richardson blasted a solo home run with the score tied in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Ems a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canadians at PK Park. Game two of the three game series is set for this evening.
Also this evening, the Three Rivers Sandblasters will take on the Mid-Valley Rockets in Albany at seven pm… airtime on Coast Radio Sports is set for 6:45. The Blasters are a game and a half ahead of the Rockets, in fourth place, in Zone 3. They’re also 3 ½ games behind West Salem-Dallas with four league games remaining.
