SEATTLE (AP) – Many Oregon residents this weekend will feel the hot weather that has been broiling much of the rest of the country. A combination of high pressure and offshore flow will push temperatures into the 80s, 90s and even 100s in some areas. Forecasters issued an excessive heat watch for tomorrow for western Oregon, including the Portland area and Willamette Valley.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) – Police say nearly 30 people have been arrested and drugs and guns seized in a multi-agency investigation of what’s described as a drug trafficking ring that operated in Oregon and Washington. Pendleton Police Chief Stuart Roberts says the sweep aims to dismantle an organization that has been operating in Umatilla, Morrow and Union counties, as well as southeast Washington and southern Oregon.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County sheriff’s office says a 3-year-old boy was badly injured when he pushed out a screen on a second-story window at his home and landed on his face on the concrete driveway in Bethany. Tualatin fire officials say crews treated him at the scene yesterday and took him to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Marion County sheriff’s office says ad and crashed into a tree last night near Turner, killing 55-year-old Charles L. Walker. The sheriff’s office says the Turner man was leading a group of five other motorcycles when he left the road.
