The Aug. 7 fire destroyed the First United Methodist Church.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – Residents of about 30 rural homes outside Lakeview have been advised to evacuate as a wildfire continues to spread. The fire has burned 48 square miles and has moved south into California.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A judge hears arguments this morning on a move by Terri Horman to delay a lawsuit by her missing boy’s biological mother. Desiree Young’s suit contends that Horman kidnapped then 7-year-old Kryon Horman, who disappeared in 2010. Terri Horman’s lawyers contend the court should delay the suit while a criminal investigation continues.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Multnomah County medical examiner’s office says a body recovered from the Willamette River near Portland’s Steel Bridge is that of a 43-year-old man last known to be living in northern California.
