ALOHA, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say an Oregon woman is facing charges after she fired a shotgun inside her home during an alcohol-fueled argument over gun control. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies say no one was hurt but a neighbor’s nearby house in Aloha was damaged. Deputies say Susan Fleming argued with her boyfriend Friday night after learning he had brought his loaded 12-gauge shotgun into their home.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Triple-A reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $4.01. That’s up 4 cents in a week and 37 cents in a month. It’s 26 cents higher than the national average. Some metro prices — Portland $3.98, Salem $4.01, Eugene-Springfield $4.05, Medford-Ashland $4.08.

BROOKINGS, Ore. (AP) – Crews are getting ready to suck out nearly 28,000 cubic yards of silt that were deposited at Port Brookings in the aftermath of the 2011 Japanese tsunami. The Mail Tribune reports the silty debris will be dredged and pumped through a pipe floating atop the Pacific to an undersea dump site. The tsunami-fed silt and other gunk built up over decades has left the basin’s waters dangerously shallow.
