Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Rats have infested the Barbara Roberts Human Services Building in Salem, home base for Oregon’s health and social service agencies. Tom Barrows of the state Department of Administrative Services says it’s not one or two rats sneaking in, but a breeding population inside the building. They appear to be living under the raised flooring that was built to hide computer cables.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – Klamath County sheriff’s divers have recovered the body of a missing Coos Bay man from Four Mile Lake near Mt. McLoughlin where he had been camping. The sheriff’s office says 61-year-old Andrew Kaufman apparently drowned. A raft he had been using has not been found. Kaufman was last seen on Aug. 17.

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – Douglas County sheriff’s deputies say an 82-year-old southern Oregon woman reported missing last week has been found dead, submerged in a well on her property. An underwater camera checked the well yesterday and found the body of Carolyne McCue of Riddle. Officials believe she fell through a piece of plywood that was covering the well.

McMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) – Police in McMinnville say they’re investigating break-ins at 20 post office boxes in the town’s Post Office. That word comes as the U.S. Postal Service looks for those responsible for recent burglaries at three Eugene-area post offices. Police say the locks were pried open on all 20 boxes hit in McMinnville but it’s not clear whether any thefts occurred.
