Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

Jake Thompson connected on 13 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns, including a 49 yarder to Ryan Smith in the 1st Quarter and the Siuslaw Vikings rolled over the Elmira Falcons 24-7 Friday night in Florence.  The Viking Defense was stifling, holding the Falcons to only 101 yards offense, all on the ground in the non-league win.

The Reedsport Braves scored as time expired, but the Waldport Irish still came out on top 47 – 12 Friday night in Lincoln County.  The Mapleton Sailors had the weekend off.

On the Volleyball court Saturday the Reedsport Braves split a pair of non-league matches, downing Days Creek in two games; falling to Creswell in two.

On the cross country course there were several Siuslaw runners in action at the New Balance Festival of Champions at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City.  Runners were divided into several different flights according to qualifying times.  Mitchell Butler was sixth in the top flight with a time of 16:26.  Matt Campbell was second in the second flight with a time of 17:01 and Hayden Schaffner won the third flight with a time of 17:19.  Only one Siuslaw girl was in competition.  Katy Potter was sixth overall in the top flight with a time of 20:01.

Marcus Mariota threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns before Number 4 Oregon pulled its starters early in the third quarter.  The Ducks rolled to a 63-14 victory over Tennessee Tech Saturday afternoon.  The Ducks, at three-and-oh, were playing their final nonconference game before hosting Arizona next Saturday.  They had 652 yards total offense, compared to only 177 for the Gold Eagles.

Oregon State had the weekend off.
