ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A decision by the Oregon Court of Appeals to overturn a Roseburg woman’s drunken driving conviction may affect whether jail inmates headed for trial in Oregon are fitted with restraints. Sherie Wall was fitted with leg restraints hidden beneath pants or a dress in pretrial hearings. She pleaded guilty after a judge denied her request to remove the restraints. The Court of Appeals ruled the restraints interfered with her right to a fair trial. Prosecutors have yet to decide whether to appeal.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A 36-year-old Eugene man who offered an undercover officer the services of what he called “prosti-tots” has been sentenced to a decade behind bars. The Eugene Register-Guard reports that Adam David Zimmer pleaded guilty in May to charges of sex trafficking of a minor and employing a minor in drug operations. He was sentenced Monday in federal court in Portland.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say two people took a stolen car to visit a friend at a Salem court appearance. The Salem Statesman Journal reports the two were arrested Monday after the hearing in a stolen 1991 Honda Accord. Marion County sheriff’s deputies say they found shaved car keys, latex gloves and cordless drills used to steal cars. Deputies arrested the driver, 26-year-old Jennifer Sue Dalbey of Keizer, and a passenger, 30-year-old Robert Wayne Cooper of Salem.

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – The Douglas County sheriff’s office has released the name of a Roseburg, Ore., woman found injured and unconscious last month on a county road. The sheriff’s major crimes team said yesterday that the woman found Sept. 19 is 53-year-old Anastacia Kindel. The woman remains hospitalized and has not regained consciousness.
