Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – An anonymous tip led 30 members of Washington County Search and Rescue to comb areas around Henry Hagg Lake yesterday for the body of a missing Hillsboro woman. Police tell The Oregonian they found no evidence and there’s no break in the case. Fifty-six-year-old Maria Bolanos-Rivera hasn’t been seen since Aug. 26 when she left her home without taking her wallet or diabetes medication.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Some food workers at Oregon State University have raised concerns about a cook who rushes to serve children, even though that’s not his job. They told KATU they found out he’s a registered sex offender with a record of assaulting a 5-year-old girl. An OSU spokesman says administrators are making sure a manager is with the cook when children are around.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police are looking for the car that hit a bicyclist last night in Portland, in the Parkrose Heights area. The 48-year-old bike rider told police the car turned into him and kept going. He was thrown over the hood and onto the ground. Police say he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The car was a silver Subaru or Honda.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Lane County commissioners have delayed for two weeks their consideration of a proposed resolution supporting a coal cargo terminal at Coos Bay. Such a terminal would handle coal trains shipped through Eugene. The Register-Guard reports the commission wants to give the public more time to comment.
