PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a man on a bicycle threw a Molotov cocktail at a police cruiser about 1:30 this morning in Portland. It was parked across the street from the North Precinct, and officers spotted the man and caught him almost immediately. There was no one in the car. No one was injured.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A bullet was fired into a north Portland home yesterday in a gang shooting. Police say the bullet went into ceiling of an upstairs bedroom. Investigators believe the five adults and two kids who live in the home were not the intended target. Officers saw three suspects who ran from the scene. Two got away but officers caught and arrested a 15-year-old with a handgun.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Marion County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a ferry operator after he failed a field sobriety test. KGW-TV reports Brian Trussell told deputies he had been drinking alcohol just before his shift operating the ferry that crosses the Willamette River from Marion County to Yamhill County. A citizen called 911 Saturday afternoon he smelled alcohol on the ferry operator when he and his family crossed the river.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – A transient accused of stealing an English bulldog puppy at gunpoint from an Oregon City couple has pleaded not guilty to several charges. The Columbian reports that Jajuane Etheridge was arraigned Friday in Vancouver because the puppy was recovered there on Oct. 21 after a three-hour SWAT standoff. Police found the pup unharmed in a suitcase. Prosecutors allege the man stole the puppy after arranging via Craigslist to purchase two dogs on Oct. 19 from the Oregon City couple.
