Siuslaw Cross Country standout Katy Potter is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The Viking senior captured the individual state title for the girls at the OSAA 4A state championships over the weekend in Eugene; winning by eight seconds over the nearest competition with a time of 18:56.
Honorable mention goes to Joe Dotson. The Siuslaw defensive back snagged two interceptions in last week’s Siuslaw ‘play-in’ victory over Ridgeview High School.
All league volleyball honors were handed out this week in the Far West. Siuslaw setter Lona Dengler was named to the first team and was also tabbed as the Far West’s Most Valuable Player. Also on the first team… Alex Dodson, Lacey Desantis and Adriana Roberts. Hanna Bartlett, Chelsea Bartlett and Ashlee Cole each picked up honorable mention.
